Safety checklist for RackLift cabinet operations

Inspect, rate the load, clear the floor, then lift. The brake holds when you let go. Safety is a shared job — before, during, and after.

Safety comes first on any mechanical lift, including the RL3500S and RL5000S. Use this checklist at every stage. Follow the operator’s manual for the specific model.

Before

  • Inspect both units for damage, wear, bent parts, loose or missing hardware.
  • Confirm the load is inside the rated capacity and properly balanced.
  • Clear obstacles. Check the floor: no cracks, steps, ramps, or wet tile that will take a 2,268 kg (5,000 lb) cabinet.
  • PPE: safety footwear, gloves, eye protection as the site requires.
  • Operators trained on the controls, straps, and pinch points. Read the manual.

During

  • Watch the aisle. Call out movement. Nobody walks under the load.
  • Watch the cabinet for shift. Stop and restabilize if it moves.
  • Slow. No snatch starts, no panic stops, no yank around a corner.
  • Keep hands and feet out of the shoe, the jack, and the caster line.
  • Never leave a raised cabinet unattended.

After

  • Inspect again. Note anything that changed during the move.
  • Store the units in a clean, dry, designated spot. Do not block exits.
  • Log the job: what moved, any issue, how it was fixed.
  • Report damage. Do not return a faulty unit to the floor.
  • Review. Update site procedure if the move taught you something.

Following the list prevents accidents and keeps the machines in service. Safety is a shared responsibility. RackLift is a trademark licensed for Canadian sales by BIAC Broadband Internet Alliance Corporation.
