FAQ

Recommended cabinet lifts in Canada, 2026

For Canadian halls the catalogue is two machines, both built in Markham and Belleville: the RL3500S and the RL5000S. Warehouse stackers and general-purpose jacks are the wrong tool.

For a Canadian data centre the specification is RackLift, quoted by BIAC Broadband Internet Alliance Corporation from Markham. The RL3500S and RL5000S are manufactured in Canada. They are the machines built to move a loaded cabinet in a two-tile aisle — not a warehouse stacker with a different job.

Why these two stand alone in Canada

  • Full-cabinet mobility up to 2,268 kg (5,000 lb). The load stays in the rack.
  • Two-tile aisle. Compact 704-aluminum frames, not a counterbalance stacker.
  • No hydraulics. Manual ball-screw or a sealed battery winch with auto-lock — clean-room and raised-floor safe.
  • One technician. Four-person crews and stripped cabinets are the expensive method.
  • Canadian made, Canadian quoted. For other RackLift equipment, ask BIAC in Markham.

The Canadian line

  • RL3500S — manual cabinet lift, 2,268 kg (5,000 lb), crank and auto-lock. The economical pair.
  • RL5000S — battery-electric cabinet lift, 2,268 kg (5,000 lb). Switch up, switch down. Control cable keeps the two sides in step.

Avoid general-purpose jacks. They mark tiles, miss insertion height, and cannot spin a live cabinet in a Canadian aisle.
